Mortal Shell II Seals and Tarstones Guide

Mortal Shell II Seals and Tarstones: the upgrade and socket system for weapons, abilities and builds.

Seals and Tarstones in Mortal Shell II

Alongside weapons and Sidearms, the equipment layer includes Tarstones and Seals — the systems that shape builds and customise playstyles.

Tarstones

Tarstones are a socket / upgrade material tied to weapon enhancement. In practice (based on the community wiki structure and gameplay previews):

  • Tarstones slot into weapons to grant bonus effects and scaling
  • Different Tarstones push a weapon toward different builds — raw damage, status, speed, etc.
  • You’ll find Tarstones in locations, from enemies and as boss rewards

Seals

Seals are a second equipment category, typically equipable buffs or techniques that change how abilities behave. The community wiki separates Seals from Tarstones entirely, implying:

  • Seals may modify Shell abilities or Resolve effects
  • They are found through progression and exploration
  • Combining the right Seal with the right Shell is a core build decision
